Our team brings together educators, mentors, finance professionals, and social impact leaders who are committed to supporting students as they return to education and complete their matric.

Together we work to build a programme that restores confidence, expands opportunity, and helps students move forward with dignity.

Core Team

Iviwe Mtubu

Founder and Programme Director

Iviwe Mtubu is the founder of ReMatric SA and leads the vision, partnerships, and programme development of the organisation.

He is an educator and Geography curriculum specialist who has worked in curriculum design, teacher development, and education innovation. Iviwe was recognised as one of the Mail and Guardian 200 Young South Africans in 2021 for his contribution to education.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Geographical Science, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and an Honours degree in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town.

Samora Menze

People and Culture Coordinator

Samora Menze supports the mentorship and student wellbeing aspects of the programme.

As an educator and certified coach, he works to ensure that students remain motivated, supported, and encouraged throughout their academic journey.

Abdul Majiet

Academic Coordinator

Abdul Majiet oversees the academic structure of the ReMatric programme.

He supports subject planning, academic quality, and exam readiness for students preparing to complete their matric. Abdul works closely with teachers and students to ensure that the programme remains academically rigorous and supportive.

Lukhangela Myataza

Finance Administrator

Lukhangela Myataza supports the financial oversight and long term sustainability of ReMatric SA.

As a financial data analyst, she contributes to financial planning, budgeting, and strategic decision making that allows the organisation to grow responsibly.

Whitney Williams

Admin and Operations Support Officer

Whitney Williams supports the operational coordination of the programme.

Her work includes student administration, communication with applicants, and helping ensure that programme logistics run smoothly.

Board of Directors

ReMatric SA is guided by a board of experienced professionals who support the organisation’s governance, strategy, and long term sustainability.

The board provides guidance and accountability as the organisation grows and expands its impact.

Julian Hewitt

Board Member

Julian Hewitt is an education leader and former CEO of the Jakes Gerwel Fellowship. He brings extensive experience in education leadership, social impact, and organisational development.

Nthabiseng Khetla

Board Member

Nthabiseng Khetla is a Chartered Accountant at PwC with expertise in financial oversight, governance, and accountability.

Leandri Fick

Board Member

Leandri Fick is an experienced education leader with over fifteen years of experience in academic leadership, school management, and education strategy.

Boitumelo Diale

Board Member

Boitumelo Diale is an accounting lecturer at the University of Cape Town and an education fellow committed to advancing access to quality education.

Carla Tsampiras

Board Member

Carla Tsampiras is an Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town whose work focuses on health humanities, social justice, and interdisciplinary education.
